Paramount powers up late-summer 2014 by moving its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feature from June 6 to August 8.
Paramount hopes to power up late-summer 2014 by moving its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feature from June 6 to August 8, according to a report by Deadline.
The studio reportedly says the move is meant to capitalize on a lack of family films during the end of summer. It’s also supposed to further distance TMNT from the studio’s next Transformers film, which is slated to open June 27.
The live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, from Nickelodeon Movies and Platinum Dunes, stars Megan Fox as the ambitious journalist April O’ Neil. Will Arnett, Whoopi Goldberg and William Fichtner co-star.
Merchandising for the film already has been ramping up, as well as revised word-of-mouth for the property itself, thanks to the new Nickelodeon animated series.
The live-action TMNT now opens alongside Universal’s Dracula and Disney/DreamWorks’ The Hundred-Foot Journey, and one week away from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
