Growing up can be a beast, amply demonstrated in Oscar-winning ‘Bao’ director Domee Shi’s new comedy about an overbearing mom and her young daughter who ‘poofs’ into a red panda whenever she gets too excited; film releases March 11, 2022.
We finally get a peak at Pixar and Oscar-winning Bao director Domee Shi’s upcoming animated comedy, Turning Red. The 3DCG animated film stars Rosalie Chiang as Mei Lee, a 13-year-old who suddenly “poofs” into a giant red panda when she gets too excited, which based on the behavior of her overprotective mother, played by Sandra Oh (The Chair, Killing Eve), is most always. Mom seems to always stay close, much to the Mei Lee’s dismay and rather extreme shift shape.
