‘Planet of the Apes’ Shorts Document Gap Between ‘Rise’ and ‘Dawn’

Twentieth Century Fox releases three short films documenting events during the 10 years that have passed between the ‘Rise’ and ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ storylines.

In preparation for its forthcoming release, Twentieth Century Fox has partnered with Vice Media’s Motherboard to release three short films documenting what happened during the 10 years that have passed between Rise and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

In the upcoming film, Caesar and his army of apes are threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. Apes and humans are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Directed by Isaiah Seret, the short films include Quarantine, which documents the spread of the “Simian Flu” during year 1, All Fall Down from year 5, and The Gun, which depicts events 10 years after the viral pandemic has swept the globe. In the films, people are beginning to be quarantined, children have guns, homes are destroyed, stores looted and humans turn on each other. Watch the short films below:

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes arrives in theaters July 11.
