Primetime Emmy Nominees Announced

The 64th Primetime Emmy Award Nominations were announced today by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, with veteran animated series competing against new animated series in the animated categories.

The 64th Primetime Emmy Award Nominations were announced today by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, with veteran animated series competing against new animated series in the animated categories.

In the Outstanding Animated Program category, nominees include The Simpsons’ “Holidays of Future Passed”; Futurama‘s “The Tip of the Zoidberg”; American Dad‘s “Hot Water”; The Penguins of Madagascar‘s “The Return of the Revenge of Dr. Blowhole”; and Bob’s Burgers‘ “BurgerBoss.”

In the Short Format categories, nominees include Adventure Time‘s “Too Young”; Phineas and Ferb‘s “The Doonkleberry Imperative”; MAD‘s “Kitchen Nightmare Before Christmas / How I Met Your Mummy”; Regular Show‘s Eggscellent”; and Robot Chicken‘s “Fight Club Paradise.”

In the Voice-Over Performance category, Dan Povenmire was nominated for his role as Dr. Doofenshmirtz in Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension, along with Rob Ribble from Disney Prep & Landing: Naughty Vs. Nice; Maurice LaMarche from Futurama (“The Silence of the Clamps”); Hank Azaria from The Simpsons (“Moe Goes from Rags to Riches”); and Kristen Wiig from The Looney Tunes Show (“Double Date”).

Michael Giacchino was nominated for his score for Disney Prep & Landing: Naughty Vs. Nice in the Music Composition for a Miniseries, Movie or Special category.
