Showtime is set to adapt John Layman and Rob Guillory’s comicbook CHEW into a TV series, reports Deadline.com. Terri Hughes Burton and Ron Milbauer (EUREKA) penned the script. Stephen Hopkins will direct the pilot and exec produce.
The dark comedy follows Tony Chu, who has the ability to receive psychic impressions from things he eats. Due to his powers, the FBI agent is assigned the strange cases.
Circle of Confusion is the studio. Hopkins, Burton, Milbauer and David Engel are also exec producers. Kate Garwood will produce in some form as well.
