Sony Pictures Imageworks Steps Up Recruiting

Sony Pictures Imageworks, Inc. (SPI) has hired Diane St. Clair and Jana Day as recruiting consultants for its Culver City, California facility. The studio is gearing up an intensive 2003-2004 production slate, requiring artists and technicians to create visual effects and CG animation for such films as THE MATRIX RELOADED, CHARLIES ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE, BAD BOYS II, THE POLAR EXPRESS, HAUNTED MANSION, BIG FISH and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, in addition to upcoming projects from Sony Pictures Animation. Formerly St. Clair was responsible for the active recruitment and sourcing of personnel at Centropolis Effects for the past four years. St. Clair was also owner of artist representation company Right Brain Reps, representing graphic artists to advertising agencies, magazines, newspaper and book publishers. Day was director of staffing at Big Idea Prods. She also worked at DreamWorks as head of recruitment for the animation studio and corporate, and at Warner Bros. as human resources manager for television and classic animation. St. Clair and Day join recruiting consultant George Davis who specializes in identifying technical talent for software, systems, new media and IT for both Imageworks and Sony Pictures Digital. SPI contributed effects to recent releases THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS, I SPY, SPIDER-MAN, MEN IN BLACK II and STUART LITTLE 2. Imageworks produced and released its first original all-CG animated short, THE CHUBBCHUBBS, recently honored with Academy Award and BAFTA nominations. Imageworks is a key component of Sony Pictures Digital, which oversees Sony Pictures Entertainment's digital production and online entertainment assets. Sony Pictures Animation, formed in May 2002, is a division of Sony Pictures Digital and is responsible for the development and production of CG features for Sony Pictures Entertainment.
