TORONTO -- Splash Entertainment has launched a feature film division, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter. Splash is the producer of animated series such as Chloe's Closet and The Care Bears.
The company's first big screen project will reportedly be Norm of the North, an animated feature about a fun-loving polar bear. The project will feature the voice talents of Rob Schneider and Heather Graham.
Lionsgate has picked up North American rights to Norm of the North, with Good Universe handling international sales in Toronto.
The film, set for an early 2016 release, follows polar bear Norm and his three ragtag lemming pals who set off on a trip to New York City to try and save their Arctic home from a maniacal land developer. Ken Jeong (The Hangover) and Loretta Devine (Grey’s Anatomy) also star.
Splash Entertainment's co-CEOs, Nicolas Atlan and Mike Young, will produce Norm of the North together with Liz Young and Steve Rosen.
