‘Star Wars’ New Series Roundup: ‘The Bad Batch’

Watch the first sneak peek trailer of Disney+ original CG animated series sequel to ‘The Clone Wars,’ which follows a group of elite and experimental clones.

The Star Wars team has been busy these days. A sneak peek at the new Disney+ CG animated series The Bad Batch was dropped at last Thursday’s the Investor Meeting, which you can watch below:

Disney states the series will follow “the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose."

While the show was originally announced in July 2020, Bad Batch was the only Lucasfilm animated series confirmed on Thursday. This is great news for fans of Clone Wars and even Rebels.

The Bad Batch is executive produced by Dave Filoni, of The Mandalorian and The Clone Wars fame, and is set for a 2021 release on Disney+.
