‘Tuca & Bertie’ Back with New Episodes on Adult Swim

Lisa Hanawalt’s critically acclaimed adult animated comedy series, starring Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong, gets a new lease on life with all new episodes debuting June 13; series centers on the friendship between two millennial bird women dealing with real life issues such as ghosts, sex buses, pottery fails, and therapy.

Tuca & Bertie fans rejoice! Lisa Hanawalt’s critically acclaimed animated comedy series, which first aired on Netflix, is back with new episodes on Adult Swim beginning Sunday, June 13 at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT.

The series, starring Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong, centers on the friendship between two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building: Tuca (voiced by Haddish), a cocky, care-free toucan, and Bertie (Wong), an anxious, daydreaming songbird. The cast also includes Steven Yuen.

Executive produced by Hanawalt, production designer on BoJack HorseMan, and BoJack HorseMan creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Tuca & Bertie was unceremoniously dropped by the streaming giant in 2019 after a single 10-episode season.

Take a look at what’s in store coming this June!

Tuca and Bertie are best friends, and they’re both full of ghosts! Bertie is busy excavating her inner ghouls with the help of a therapist, while Tuca prefers to stuff hers behind the toilet. She’ll deal with them later, right now she’s just too busy trying not to be single anymore! Meanwhile, Speckle is building a new house but soon finds he's driven to the brink of insanity...good thing he’s just a cartoon.

Sex buses, pottery fails, and therapy - these episodes are full relatable moments of hilarity. Just be warned, you’ll never look at plants the same way again!

The show is created, and executive produced by Hanawalt, with Bob-Waksberg, Noel Bright, Steven A. Cohen, Haddish, and Wong also serving as executive producers. The series is produced by Michael Eisner's The Tornante Company, with the animation produced at ShadowMachine.
