Warner Bros. announced release dates for several tentpole films on Wednesday, including a Dec. 17, 2010 unspooling of GREEN LANTERN and the eighth and final HARRY POTTER film for July 15, 2011, according to multiple news sources.
According to ERCBoxOffice.com, that same weekend is the home of Marvel's THE AVENGERS. Summer 2010 will also see the debuts of Marvel's IRON MAN 2, THOR and THE GREEN HORNET.
The studio also moved SHERLOCK HOLMES from Nov. 13 to Christmas Day this year against Disney's THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, Fox's ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE SQUEAKQUEL and Universal's Untitled Nancy Meyers Comedy. That frees up the weekend of Nov. 13 to just 2012 (Sony) and THE TOOTH FAIRY (Fox).
Christopher Nolan's next film, the sci-fi INCEPTION, is set for July 16, 2010, and THE CLASH OF THE TITANS remake (Louis Leterrier) will drop March 26, 2010.
And JONAH HEX, with Josh Brolin and John Malkovitch, is set for August 6, 2010 and Zack Snyder's SUCKERPUNCH will come Oct. 8, 2010. The latter is apparently "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns."
