Paris-based Watch Next Media enters into a development deal on the company’s first series with France Télévisions on its 52-episode 11-minute animated series, ‘Nate is Late.’

Watch Next Media has entered into a development deal with France Télévisions on its 52-episode 11-minute animated series, Nate is Late.

Created by Sylvain Huchet and Peter Saisselin (Gawayn, Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks), production on Nate is Late is set to start in the spring of 2016. Founded by Philippe Alessandri in March 2015, Nate is Late is the first series from the Paris-based animation and drama production company.

Here’s the synopsis:

Every morning, 8-year-olds Oscar and Malika leave home 30 minutes early to go to school. It’s supposed to be an 8-minute walk, and yet every morning they arrive late! That’s because every morning, something AMAZING happens on the way. But even though their stories are always true, the school’s principal never believes them...
