WATCH: Paramount Animation Teases ‘Wonder Park’

Produced at Ilion Animation Studios in Spain, ‘Wonder Park’ arrives in theaters on March 15, 2019.

Written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, ‘Wonder Park’ arrives in theaters on March 15, 2019.

Paramount pictures has unveiled the first teaser-trailer for Wonder Park, the forthcoming CG-animated feature from Paramount Animation, Nickelodeon Movies and Ilion Animation Studios.

In the film, a creative young girl named June (voiced by Brianna Denski) finds an incredible abandoned amusement park called Wonder Park filled with fantastical rides and funny, talking animals. June soon realizes that the park came from her imagination and that she is the only one who can save the magical place and revive the wonder, with the help of the animals, of course.

Wonder Park is produced by Josh Appelbaum (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows), André Nemec (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows), and Kendra Haaland (The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning).

Former Pixar animator Dylan Brown was originally set to direct the film (then titled Amusement Park), but he was let go after complaints alleging inappropriate conduct were made against him. It is unclear who will be replacing Brown as director. Several outlets note that he was replaced by David Feiss (Open Season: Scared Silly), but to date there has been no official announcement made by studio.

Actor Jeffrey Tambor was also originally tapped to voice to one of the film’s characters -- Boomer, a narcoleptic bear -- but he was replaced by Ken Hudson Campbell after sexual harassment complaints were made against him.

Wonder Park is written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, and also features the voices of Sofia Mali, Jennifer Garner, Kenan Thompson, Mila Kunis, John Oliver, Ken Jeong and Matthew Broderick.

Distributed by Paramount Pictures, Wonder Park arrives in theaters on March 15, 2019. A television series based on the film will debut the same year on Nickelodeon, making it the third animated film from Nickelodeon Movies (after Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Barnyard) to spawn an animated series on the network.
