Wes Anderson's stop-motion FANTASTIC MR. FOX is on the shortlist for the new Best Film Award at The Times BFI 53rd London Film Festival, which takes place Oct. 14-29. The Fox Searchlight feature was adapted from the Roald Dahl book. Voice work is being done by George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Bill Murray.
The festival kicks off next Wednesday evening with a gala premiere. The awards ceremony will be held Oct. 28. The Best Film Award is a new entry along with Best British Newcomer, and recognizes "creative, original, imaginative, intelligent and distinctive filmmaking."
