Based on the WEBTOON webcomic with 17 million views, the show, which follows the antics of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, will be written by ‘Workaholics’ co-creator Dominic Russo.
The new film, directed by Chang (‘The Target’), stars Japanese actress Miyoshi Iyaka as Ran, a boxer who must break into the underworld to save her sister; debuts on streamer November 2.
The logos for both upcoming direct-to-video features were revealed during the DC Studios panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, with further details kept deeply under wraps.
The streamer teams up with Les Éditions Albert René, tapping TAT animation studio to create a new show based on the icon comic; the Toulouse-based studio has just launched a recruitment campaign to gear up for production on the series, scheduled to be released in 2024.
