we don't have it here in Portugal, but we do have Saint Martin's summer! In the beginning of grey wet November there's a week of beautiful sunshine all because on one cold rainy day Saint Martin gave his only cape away to a beggar. We commemorate it by jumping over bonfires and eating chestnuts and sweet potatoes amongst other seasonal specialties (one thing about the Portuguese, we cellebrate everything with food!)
But, I do miss all of the Halloween fireworks and cellebrations from when I used to live in the UK.
The last couple of years we've uploaded spooky characters and/or situations and near Halloween they are composited into a AWN Halloween picture. I think the first year got lost with the new forum, but here's the link for last years party:
If we were all open-minded individuals, then maybe we'd watch the Goblin Parade from Isao Takahata's Pom Poko on Halloween. But, since we're all intolerant of other styles, let's stick with watching old Disney shorts with a "spooky" theme.
Anyway, I'm not going to participate in this picture-project, or whatever it is. It isn't my cup o' tea.

Ooook...Anyway. I am in, it will not be a polished piece but I will try to post it before Halloween. Oh, is there going to be any effort to combine all the pictures into one image?
I don't think we are going to have time to put together a composite, so I think we should just share some spooky sketches or renders "in keeping with the season!" And most important have fun!
by the way, if you guys are animating the frankenstein, or skeletons, or dracula, doesn't that mean that you guys are animating an animated dead? that's kind of weird because animation itself is about animating the non-living (ie. dead), right? so basically you could throw anything animated into a haloween party, simply because they were in fact, dead until being given the motion ^^.
Phacker, that's a hilarious thought, that halloween characters would get dressed up in the commercialized costumes that kids wear! As if they aren't creepy/spooky enough already without having to buy a costume.
awesome!
i love how it came out, kdiddy. really sweet animation and gestures.
i managed to pull this off today using some sketches i was playing around with in flash last weekend. got it done just in time! mwah ha ha ha ha haaaaa (maniacal halloween laughter.)
I wasn't here last year. What's involved?

The first sketch!
Who needs a costume when you look like this?
Pooryorik thanks for getting things started. I'll work up something in the next day or so, I hope.

Four days, people! :D
Nice ecard, BTW.
In keeping with the season! By the way totally created in Flash with a mouse and the pencil tool and painting tools in FlashMX.

That's an awesome picture Phacker! I like the cat's eye--really nice.
Here is one from an old project. Franky has just given his bride a chocolate covered heart as a gift!

Hey Blue, I had a funny thought about how Frankie would look in Superman jammies.

This is the best I can do for this Holloween.
