Hi Everyone,
My name is David Guivant, I am currently working on an INVINCIBLE IRON MAN independent shortfilm, a project based on the Marvel comic book character which will be released online on the 19th of December.
While the project is in post-production phase, a short teaser is already online for you to enjoy.

The reel is shot entirely in mini DV, combining live action footage and 2D Frame by frame animation [U](Photoshop and the sequences are rendered in Sony Vegas)

Cheers
DAVE ;)
Not to take away from your post about your " INVINCIBLE IRON MAN" but the director of the feature film "Iron Man" as a small video interview about his project.
The clip is out there but I can not find it right now.
Ok, my post does take away from your thread. sorry :D
I am dialup so it will take a while to get the video of your work but I am sure you have done some really interesting work. Iron Man, in my opinion is a very interesting subject for animation. If you are on the show "The Lot" good luck.
Fans can catch a glimpse of NICK FURY in action on the INFAMOUS JACKSON BROS Channel: You can download the video below: Thanks to NAS-T and D

Hi Wontonbe, no worries at all, actually the footage for Jon Favreau's IRON MAN isn't available yet, you only get a footage of the interview on G4.
The one where you get to see the MARK I armor and some test animation from ILM is Comicon exclusive only. He 'll wait for Paramount to figure out how to market their film as oposed to the DARK KNIGHT project.:)
There were rumors about te official trailer being shown before TRANSFORMERS but the magnificent work ILM has done for TFN would overshadow IRON MAN who's just one "Robot" only.
So wait a while and you'll get to see the official Trailer soon.
Thanks a lot Wontobe.
Indeed IRON MAN is an interesting subject for a shortfilm project. Expect to see a few more characters from the Marvel Universe, one of them is a very famous secret agent with a cigar and eyepatch.
Cheers
Dave ;)

PICTURE 1 ROXXON OIL COMPANY
This fictional company, appearing in comic book stories published by Marvel Comics, is notorious for its determination to make massive profits regardless of any laws or moral principles. As such, it is involved in numerous criminal plots that require the opposition of the various superheroes to stop.
While this company has encountered numerous superheroes, it has most notably been at odds with IRON MAN, as in a storyline called "The Iron Age" where it was revealed that agents of Roxxon Oil killed Tony Stark's parents.
PICTURE 2 TONY STARK'S NEURAL NET AND ARMOR
Not so long ago, Anthony Stark made a massive technological breakthrough. Instead of physically putting on his shinny suit of armor, the armor is now part of him. It pours out of his skin, he is an IRON MAN.
PICTURE 3 NICK FURY
Colonel Nicholas Joseph "Nick" Fury is a James Bond-like spy and leading agent of the espionage agency S.H.I.E.L.D. An intruder with a cloacking device and titanium armor is on board the S.H.I.E.L.D Strato Carrier, it's prime target is NICK FURY himself.
PICTURE 4 S.H.I.E.L.D's STEALTH HAMMER STRATO CARRIER
The most recognizable element of S.H.I.E.L.D, the STRATO CARRIER was the product of the most advanced technologies and minds in the aeronautic industry. Constructed in the late 1960's with help from Tony Stark and Reed Richards, the carrier served as SHIELD's mobile HQ, permitting a global vigilance unmatched by any other force on Earth. Housing hundreds of agents and technicians, the carrier also serves as home to several squadrons of fighter aircraft, helicopters and hovercars.

The mysterious Titanium intruder has disabled the magnetic field around the carrier, a fleet of unidentified aircrafts are approaching the carrier. BATTLESTATIONS !!
Greetings from New Caledonia South Pacific Island. THE TRISKELLION
Post production for the INVINCIBLE IRON MAN project has been completed already. Give us sometime to upload the videofile and I will post the link as soon as I have the URL.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone. :P :P
Some photos of the INVINCIBLE IRON MAN project.
I'm excited to see the new Ironman too, as I got to work with the special FX coordinator, Dan Sudick, on some of the stunt /action sequences through my job with Antics. I helped him pre-viz a hummer caravan/roadside bomb sequence, which was fun... and then he showed me how he plays most of the time by blowing things up!
Happy New Year Antic !! ;)
WOOW, you got to see a piece of the action of the Hollywood Iron Man? You saw the animatics for that sequence? :) Only the Jeeps that were blown away? What else did you manage to see?
I am located in New Caledonia South Pacific Island with (Extremely) low internet bandwith. Got a mail from my friend in the UK, as soon as he receives the videofiles I sent him, he'll post it onto the web asap.
Stay tuned :D
Cheers
Dave ;)
Happy New Year to you too! Yeah, I only saw the Hummer/Jeep sequence and some of the animatics that were done with our software. He was showing Jon Favreau how they could save money on the budget by shooting different angles, where the special effects rigs wouldn't have to be removed in post, or at least minimizing the post budget for those sequences. For example, if he shot POV shots from the driver they would only have to remove part of the rig that would flip the hummer, but if they shot a long shot from above, you would see the whole thing and all of it would need to be removed.
Can't wait for the movie! I'm a big fan of Favreau and DP Matthew Libatique.
This project was made with practically No Budget and recorded with a Sony Mini DV Camcorder. The Actors were shot on a black backgound and the lighting is from torch lights or Garden projectors, I don't have anything to record audio and to produce sound itself.
My actors are friends, students and teachers doing it for fun. No drama training at all.
What you see is 2D frame by frame animation, all done in photoshop. My main area is pre-production and graphics as my strength lies more in the image department.

How are you not getting sued? Especially calling it "Official Iron Man Trailer?" It can't be Official if it's a fan flick.
Aloha,
the Ape
...we must all face a choice, between what is right... and what is easy."
I can appreciate the talent and time and effort that goes into these Fan films But if I exerted the time talent and effort it might as well be original.
I guess I don't get them.
I mean if I had a hankering to make a Superman film maybe I'd create Uberguy; change the look and feel and origin and it'd be my idea.
Do people get gigs from these fan films?
No worries mate, no one is getting sued as Director Jon Favreau is aware of my project. I e-mailed him about it a long time ago, anything related to Iron Man generates more profit for Paramount or Marvel.
It's an Official Fan Trailer , it's even mentioned in magazines and it was screened on Canal Plus 2 months ago.
(Love the Iron Man Parody mate !!
Great news, THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN TV SHOW will also be screened at these Conventions:
GEN CON (AUSTRALIA)
FINNCON (FINLAND)
SHORE LEAVE 30 (BALTIMORE)
In fact if anyone wants to screen their demos or animated short feel free to contact these conventions as well or the magazines I mentioned above. ;)
I just watched your trailer, and I didn't recognize any of the actors. Might not be necessary to list EVERYONE from the film, especially if they aren't names. What's the premise for your film? And I think you get the award for the most links in one thread.

Well, it's been a great pleasure to share this wonderful project with you all, thank you for the cool feedback and moving on to my next project: CAPTAIN FUTURE.
Latest news about the , THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN TV SHOW which will be screened at TRI CITY COMIC CON Independent Fan Film Festival.
TRY CITY COMIC CON
I am thinking of attending DAVESCHOOL, did guys have any feedback from animators who attended the school?
I really can't wait. This is going to be AWESOME.
Thanks mate, I'll be in the United States next year as well.
Cheers
Dave
