The Oscar qualifying event returns to Espinho, November 13-19 to promote animation and its creators with a commitment to educating professionals and the public.
CINANIMA animation festival, established in 1976, works to promote animation and its creators. The festival is strongly committed to educating professionals and the public. In recent years it has been developing an educational program in the visual arts that also enriches experience of those who visit the festival.
In addition to CINANIMA’s competition programs, masterclasses, workshops and retrospectives, this year’s edition will feature special thematic nights for general audiences, as well as creative and challenging selections for children and youngsters. The competition is an Oscar qualifying event, with the Grand Prize winner for short films placed on the shortlist for the Best Animation Short film nominations.
CINANIMA is an animation film festival co-organized by NASCENTE – Cooperative Society with Cultural Purposes, and by the Espinho City Hall; it is approved by ASIFA – Association International du Film d’Animation.
