Who says stop-motion is dead?
Three stop-motion movies (that I'm aware of. There may be more.) are currently headed for theaters. They are
The Corpse Bride (WB),
Wallace and Gromit (Dreamworks), and
Fantastic Mr. Fox (Sony),
which will be the second Roald Dahl work to be adapted to stop-motion (the first being James and the Giant Peach).
Stop motion dead!?!? I should hope not!
How else would we be able to enjoy the adventures of Wallace and Grommit.
hehehe, I loved those shows. But then I thought Chicken Run was good, too.
:-D
I should also mention that Academy Award winning Harvie Krumpet is now on DVD.
Along the same lines, I just saw a very cool stop mo commercial for Coinstar. Coins from all over the house gather on a coffee table. Very nice, intricate work.
I have to give my two-cents here... I had the privilege of screening Harvey Krumpet in September at the Ottawa festival, and honestly, it is a wonderful piece of work, and should be a big part of any animator's film collection. It was original, imaginative, cute, and very fresh... As far as I am concerned, an Oscar well deserved fro Aussie film maker, Adam Elliot.
Cheers

If anyone gets the opportunity to screen "Ward 13", yet another Aussie stop motion film, I HIGHLY recommend it.
