How do people go about creating their own websites and stuff. All these freelance animators seem to have one, and hopefully in time i would like one of my own. Ideas anyone?
It would be interesting to see lots of people's websites.
It always fascinates me whether people take a minimilist stylistic slick approach, or high powered stuffed to the gills with things to do approach.
it would ideally depend on two things your target market and your personal brand etc. what would make it fit well.
for example. i am working on our corporate site and its going to be minimalistic slick as you call it. while the site for our show will be all colourful and childish like.
edit: unless of course you are talking about the programming style rather than the design style. in which case it would be best to learn to do the high powered stuff and then you have the option to do both

That would have an effect on what you wanted, so what you needed to learn.
You can stay away from the programing HTML by using a application called Web Authoring software.

Sorry I meant personal portfolio type websites.
If your designing for a company/product, yeah you would cater it for the tastes of the target audience.
I was just asking peoples personal tastes of what reflects them . :)
