The creative team behind the animated hit is set to return for the upcoming sequel.
DreamWorks Animation has officially announced that The Boss Baby 2, the sequel to their 2017 hit animated feature, will be released by Universal Pictures on Friday, March 26, 2021.
The Boss Baby, which to date has generated more than an estimated $450 million at the international box office, explores what happens to an unsuspecting family when a new baby takes over. It was directed by Tom McGrath, produced by Ramsey Naito, and stars Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, Miles Bakshi and Tobey Maguire. It was written by Mike McCullers and based on the award-winning picture book by Marla Frazee.
According to DreamWorks Animation, the creative team behind the The Boss Baby will be back for the follow-up film.
The next film release from DreamWorks feature animation division will be the raucous comedy Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, which is directed by David Soren, produced by Mireille Soria and Mark Swift, and stars Kevin Hart, Ed Helms, Nick Kroll and Thomas Middleditch and will be released on June 2nd. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie will be the last film released by Twentieth Century Fox under a distribution deal that expires at the end of 2017.
