Widely known for his work on Bill Burr’s animated series, he is also remembered for his contributions to ‘The Simpsons,’ for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award, and the stop-motion animated series ‘The PJs.’
Writer, director, and voice actor Marc Edward Wilmore has died after a battle with COVID. He was 57. A well know writer of sketch comedy, he started out in the early 1990’s on the series In Living Color. He is also known for his work on The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno, and the stop-motion animated series, The PJs, which was created by his brother Larry Wilmore.
Marc Edward Wilmore was a gifted impersonator; his repertoire included Robert Guillaume, Maya Angelou, James Earl Jones, and others. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program as a producer for his work on The Simpsons in 2008. Later Wilmore worked as a writer, executive producer, and voice actor on F Is for Family, starring Bill Burr.

I had the privilege to work alongside Marc Wilmore on 3 shows (PJs, Simpsons, FIFF) for the better part of the last 23 years and he was THE funniest person in every room. And a wonderful man. He is irreplaceable. Rest In Peace, my friend.”
