Press Release from Cake Entertainment
CAKE Entertainment has announced a restructure of its senior team to equip the company for future growth. Under the new executive structure, Ed Galton will become CCO and Managing Director, having entered the ownership of the company alongside Tom van Waveren, CEO and Creative Director.
Galton will manage the day-to-day business operations and as well as heading up CAKE’s distribution arm. Van Waveren will continue to scout for new content, set up new partnerships and oversee the production of CAKE shows.
The restructure reflects a period of fast growth and development for the company, which has seen CAKE established as a marketplace leader in the kids’ and family industry. CAKE has gone from strength to strength since its founding in 2002, having editorially produced over 200 half hours of content and distributed over 750 half hours of programming worldwide.
Tom van Waveren, CEO and Creative Director, CAKE Entertainment says: “Ed has been instrumental in getting CAKE to where it is today. Putting his superb commercial instinct more firmly at the centre of the company’s operations makes perfect sense, and will allow CAKE to build on its burgeoning success.”
About CAKE Entertainment:CAKE Entertainment is one of the world’s leading kids’ and family entertainment specialists. The company handles everything from traditional television rights to digital, online and ancillary commercial rights.
CAKE also prides itself on being a well-established meeting place for a growing family of globally recognised producers. Suggesting perhaps that we may have been doing a few things right at least, we won the Kidscreen “Best Distributor of the Year” award in 2009.
