HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ wins the award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects; award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role is given to PBS series ‘Sherlock.’
LOS ANGELES -- The Television Academy presented the first of its two 2016 Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremonies for programs and individual achievements on Saturday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
This initial awards ceremony of the 68th Emmys honored guest performers on television drama series and comedy series, as well as the many talented artists and craftspeople behind the scenes who create television excellence. Executive produced by Bob Bain, this year’s Creative Arts Awards featured an array of notable presenters, among them Rachel Bloom, Mel B, Joanne Froggatt, Michael Kelly, Margo Martindale, Laurie Metcalf, Bob Newhart and Bradley Whitford.
ABC holiday special It’s Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown! was given the award for Outstanding Children’s Program, while FX’s Archer Scavenger Hunt picked up the award for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media in the Multiplatform Storytelling category, and Oculus Story Studio’s VR film Henry won the award in the Original Interactive Program category.
Amazon series The Man in The High Castle won the award for Outstanding Main Title Design, recognizing Creative Director Patrick Clair, Designer Paul Kim, CG Artist Jose Limon and Animator Raoul Marks.
In the visual effects categories, HBO’s Game of Thrones won the award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for the epic “Battle of The Bastards” episode, while the award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role was given to PBS series Sherlock for “The Abominable Bride” episode.
