Scott Caple has joined longtime friend and animation director Tina Seemann on the faculty of Max the Mutt Animation School. As a teacher in the animation field, Caple acquired experience in other schools in the U.S. He combines his academic qualifications readily with firsthand knowledge of the animation industry. He will be teaching Advanced Storyboarding.
From 2000 to 2003, Caple was involved in the concept and production design of THE INCREDIBLES. During his time at Pixar, he was responsible for both environment/background design and art direction.
Caples wide experience in layout and cinematography includes THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, FANTASIA, THE LEGEND OF MULAN, THE EMPERORS NEW GROOVE, ATLANTIS and RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. Caple is working on the film, THE WILD, in Toronto.
At Max the Mutt, students learn fundamental drawing skills, 2D, 3D and classical animation, portfolio development and other important skills in demand at most U.S. and Canadian animation and gaming companies. The school has added a fourth year to an outstanding three-year diploma program in Animation Basics. Students who go on to the advanced diploma program further develop their skill base in their fourth year by working on a film project and acquiring work experience with animation companies in our cooperative work/study program. Throughout the years, the school has focused on keeping classes small, on attracting and maintaining an excellent teaching staff of working artists/animators and on helping students to achieve excellence in drawing/animation and in their presentation skills. Max the Mutt has a number of animation projects on the drawing boards that will create an exciting, rich learning environment for students and staff alike.
The school is located at 952 Queen St. West in the heart of Torontos Art and Animation district. Further information can be obtained at www.maxthemutt.com , e-mail: info@maxthemutt.com or tel.: (416) 703-6877.
