NEW YORK, October 6, 2009- Little Airplane Academy, the intensive workshop for anyone who wants to learn what it takes to make and sell successful international preschool television series, is traveling overseas for a two-day seminar in Sydney, Australia, November 21-22.
The course, “How to Make a Great Preschool Series,” is the traveling version of the successful Little Airplane Academy that takes place twice a year at Little Airplane Productions’ studio in New York City’s South Street Seaport. Now in its fifth year, Little Airplane Academy attracts children's book authors, network executives, musicians, educators, producers, actors and writers, all of whom want to learn how they can create and produce their own preschool program.
The Academy courses will be taught by members of the senior staff of Little Airplane Productions, including Josh Selig, Founder and President, Jennifer Oxley, Creative Director, and Tom Brown, Head of Production. Little Airplane Productions is the creator and producer of hit preschool television series including “The Wonder Pets!” “3rd & Bird!” and “Oobi!”
The Academy courses will cover every aspect of creating and producing a preschool show, from pitching through design, animation, curriculum development, directing and licensing. The Academy will conclude with a panel discussion with several Australian children's television broadcasters including the ABC's Carla De Jong and Nickelodeon's Deirdre Brennan.
"Having done the Little Airplane course in New York myself a few years ago, I was thrilled to hear it would be coming to Australia,” said De Jong, Head of Commissioning and Development, ABC Children’s Television. “The opportunity to learn from creative luminaries such as Josh Selig and his team is one not to be missed."
"I am thrilled to be bringing the Little Airplane Academy to Australia," said Josh Selig, President and Founder, Little Airplane Productions. "There is so much talent and so much energy in the Australian independent community. We can't wait to see the new work they'll be generating."
