Geeked Week '23 knows no bounds… the ‘Stranger Things’ darling stars as a strong-willed princess who must fight for her survival after she is sacrificed to a dragon to repay an ancient royal debt; the dark live-action fantasy streams in 2024.
Geeked Week ’23 continued to deliver over the weekend, saving the heavy hitters for the last couple days. On Saturday, Netflix dropped the first look teaser trailer for Damsel, the highly anticipated dark, live-action fantasy feature starring Millie Bobby Brown.
The Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) directs the story of Princess Elodie (Brown), who agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find the royal family plans to sacrifice her to repay an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a cruel fire-breathing dragon, she must rely on her wits and will to survive.
Brown executive produces under her PCMA Productions banner, which marks the fourth time for the 19-year-old (she also has producing credits for both Enola Holmes films and The Girls I’ve Been).
The dastardly VFX are created by Clear Angle Studios, NVIZ, One Of Us, Proof Inc, The Third Floor, and The Yard VFX, with Nicholas Brooks acting as visual effects supervisor.
