‘Peppa Pig’ Adds Licensees, Retail Partners

Entertainment One’s preschool sensation ‘Peppa Pig’ expands into the mass market, adds licensees and retail partners Amscan and Palamon.

New York, NY-- Peppa Pig, the global preschool powerhouse that airs daily on Nick Jr. and has been the network’s #1 show for preschoolers since October 2013, now has even more reasons to celebrate! Entertainment One (eOne) Licensing, the international entertainment company that introduced the world to the endearing property, is offering Peppa product to the mass market this year for the first time and welcoming a host of new licensees, including Amscan and Palamon to the growing Peppa family. The new licensed merchandise will further fortify Peppa’s already strong connection with preschoolers and families all across the U.S. and help drive annual worldwide Peppa retail sales well beyond the brand’s already impressive $1 billion.

“We are delighted that Peppa products are moving into the mass market this year and that these exceptional companies are joining our expanding Peppa Pig licensing program,” said Joan Grasso, VP, Licensing – North America, eOne Family. “Both Amscan and Palamon are leaders in their respective categories and we are confident they will help us grow the Peppa brand in the U.S. for many years to come.”

Beginning this spring, Amscan will debut a wide range of festive new Peppa party goods, including paper and plastic tableware, foil and latex balloons, invitations and thank you notes, party decorations, and more. And, just in time for Halloween, Palamon will introduce Peppa costumes, masks and dress-up accessories, along with treat carriers such as pumpkin pails, plush buckets, and paper and plastic treat bags.

These new Peppa partners join master toy licensee, Jazwares, which will showcase its extensive new line of Peppa playthings at the American International Toy Fair in New York, Booth # 2719, February 14-17, 2015. Other recent additions to the fast-growing U.S. Peppa licensing program include:

  • Better Toyz: A broad selection of sporting goods, including sports balls, inflatable ball pits and ball tents, kiddie pools, skates, scooters, skateboards and more, arriving at retail this spring
  • Primary Colors Corp.: An extensive range of novelty stationery and confections, including boxed fruit snacks, cookies, crackers and candy as well as notepads, sticky notes, stickers, and activity pads, debuting this spring
  • Fiesta Toy: An assortment of toys for amusement channels and prize redemption, including amusement plush of all sizes, plush novelty hats, plush peek-a-boo pillows and backpacks, launching spring/summer 2015

Other newly named licensees include Scholastic and Candlewick Press (books) and Redan (Fun To Learn Peppa Pig magazine). eOne also distributes the best-selling Peppa Pig DVD series, with the newest title, “Muddy Puddles,” set to release next month.

The upcoming DVD release also will be offered as a special 2-in-1 gift set with a limited-edition collectible plush beanie toy from Ty.

Peppa-loving kids and families can look forward to two 15-minute Peppa TV specials premiering this year on Nick Jr. And, by popular demand, Peppa will star in her first-ever stage show, Peppa Pig! The exciting new live show will kick-off in New York City this fall and tour nationally starting in 2016.

Peppa Pig is a powerful entertainment brand with an active and growing licensing program in 50+ countries with more than 700 licensees worldwide. The TV show airs in over 180 territories and has been translated in more than 40 languages, so kids everywhere can fully immerse themselves in Peppa and her family’s upbeat and entertaining adventures.
