Press release from Quattro Media:
Santa Monica, CA --
Quattro Media acquired distribution rights to 16 animated short films by DNA Productions, Inc. launching its distribution division and has subsequently partnered with Nerdist to place them onto the new Nerdist Industries’ premium youtube channel. The series of shorts all center on Nanna & Lil Puss created by DNA co-founder Keith Alcorn.
Mix equal parts Geritol and Meth with a furball chaser and what you get is Nanna & Lil’ Puss Puss. They are the main characters in an animated love/hate relationship between a vertically-breasted old lady and her crazy cat. Created by Keith Alcorn (Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Planet Sheen), Nanna & Lil’ Puss Puss have been tormenting each other for more than twenty years, and sadly, there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight… we hope.
DNA Productions previously garnered an Academy Award nomination for Nickelodeon’s first CGI feature “Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius” and it previously received an Emmy nomination for its TV special “Olive the Other Reindeer” that it produced for FBC, Fox TV Studios and Matt Groening. Other DNA Productions have included the feature film “The Ant Bully” for Warner Bros., and television series “Jimmy Neutron” and “Planet Sheen” both for Nickelodeon as well as the ABC television special and IMAX release “Santa vs the Snowman.”
Quattro’s distribution division will initially focus on left of center short form content that can live across all platforms. The company is aggressively looking for shorts that can serve as a springboard to a larger franchise, growing onto other platforms and into consumer products.
