Fred Armisen is set to star in a spinoff of the fan favorite supernatural mystery series chronicling Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy, which has been greenlit for a second season.
A Wednesday spinoff featuring Fred Armisen’s Uncle Fester is in early development at Netflix, reports Variety.
The quirky character made his debut in the seventh episode of the series, “If You Don’t Woe Me by Now.” Speaking of his casting, Armisen previously stated, “It doesn’t happen that often, but it was a real case of, ‘Oh, I’m the guy for this. This is something that I would really love to do.’”

Jenna Ortega stars as Wednesday Addams, with Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, with Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams. The cast also includes Gwendoline Christie (Principal Larissa Weems)’ Jamie McShane (Sheriff Galpin); Percy Hynes White (Xavier Thorpe); Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin); Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair); Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay); Naomi J Ogawa (Yoko Tanaka); Moosa Mostafa (Eugene Ottinger); Georgie Farmer (Ajax Petropolus); Riki Lindhome (Dr. Valerie Kinbott); with Christina Ricci (Marilyn Thornhill).
Tim Burton directs and executive produces. The series’ VFX is produced by FOLKS; Ghost VFX; MARZ; MELS; MPC Episodic; NetFX; Rocket Science VFX; Stereo D; and Take 5. The production VFX supervisor is Tom Turnbull, and the production VFX producer is Kent Johnson.
