The Sierra College 2007 Scollies Animation and Video Festival invites films from Sierra College students, people of all ages from the Sierra College community and from high school students in the Sierra College district.
The festival will feature a keynote presentation by Katie Hooten, co-producer of HOODWINKED from Blue Yonder Films. She will be joined by her husband, Tim Hooten, also of Blue Yonder Films, who grew up in Northern California and attended Sierra College.
The event provides a chance to win one of six $300 scholarships to make professional industry contacts, to get behind the scenes on the making of HOODWINKED and to have work presented on a big screen in front of the community.
The festival is scheduled for Saturday, April 28, from 1:00 - 5:00 pm in the Dietrich Theater, at Sierra College Rocklin Campus located at 5000 Rocklin Road. It boasts an exciting panel of judges and speakers, all industry professionals with impressive backgrounds in animation or video, eager to share their knowledge with aspiring artists in the field. The entries are screened by a panel of professionals in search of new and creative work in animation and video. Accepted entries will be presented at the festival, followed by the presentation of scholarships and awards.
