Through eco-conscious storytelling, Disney Channel marks Earth Day with episodes conveying the importance of conservation, recycling and using natural resources beginning Friday, April 17.
PlayhouseDisney.com will launch the new "Handy Manny Gets Handy with the Earth" mini site, which includes "Manny's Mini Garden," where kids can create their own online garden on Friday, April 3. Disney.com will offer a preview of "Handy Manny's" new recycling episode, "Home Sweet Home/ Jackie's Old Shed," beginning Saturday, April 11.
New green episodes include:
THE SUITE LIFE ON DECK (April 17, 8 p.m., ET/PT) - In "Splash and Trash," Cody is upset over the number of towels the ship's guests use and organizes his own "green" initiative.
SPECIAL AGENT OSO (April 18, 8 a.m., ET/PT) - In "Dr. Off," Oso learns that conserving water and power can be as simple as the flip of a switch.
HANDY MANNY (April 18, 9 a.m., ET/PT) - In "Arbor Day," Manny and the tools help park groundskeeper Jackie transplant an ailing tree to a sunnier spot.
HANDY MANNY (April 18, 10:30 a.m., ET/PT) - In "Jackie's Old Shed," Manny and the tools build a recycling storage area using recycled wood from an old shed.
WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE (April 19, 8:30 p.m., ET/PT) - In "Don't Rain on Justin's Parade - Earth," Justin tries to save the job of his favorite weatherman, Baxter Knight, by magically altering the weather to match Baxter's forecast, but Mother Nature teaches Justin an important lesson about natural resources.
