Mercy College, a private liberal arts college located in New York, will begin offering its Animation program in Manhattan at the Roy Disney Animation + Drawing Studios beginning September 2005. Outfitted with technology made possible by a grant from Mr. Disney, the studio will be located at the Mercy College Manhattan campus at Herald Square, 66 West 35th Street. Offering a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree, the program will focus on preparing students to become animators in the industries of film, television, the Internet and gaming. The program will emphasize a balance between classical and digital animation skills. Mercy College currently offers a BFA degree in Animation, Gaming and Interactive + Digital Media Design at the Center for Digital Arts in White Plains, New York.
