Animation historian/journalist Harvey Deneroff has joined The Savannah College of Art and Design School of Film and Digital Media as one of three new professors beginning winter quarter 2005.
Deneroff, recently moved from London to Atlanta, joins the college as a part-time professor of animation. The former ANIMATION MAGAZINE and ANIMATION WORLD MAGAZINE editor has a Ph.D. in communication-cinema and a M.A. degree in cinema from USC.
Angela Hackner joins the faculty as a professor of sound design. She has a M.A. degree in film production with an emphasis in sound from USC and a bachelors degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
Burton Sears is on board at SCAD as a new professor of film and television. He received a M.A. degree in film and television production from USC and has worked as an editor in the motion picture industry for more than 30 years.
The Savannah College of Art and Design (www.scad.edu) is a private, nonprofit institution that exists to prepare talented students for careers in the visual and performing arts, design, the building arts, and the history of art and architecture.
