Spontaneous Combustion Names New Sr Visual Effects Designer

Spontaneous Combustion has added senior visual effects designer Julie Watkins to its roster. Watkins comes to Spontaneous from R!OT Manhattan, where she spent the last two and a half years, as senior inferno* artist creating campaigns and spots for Volkswagen, AT&T, Cingular, NEC, ITT, Nokia, WebMD, Nine Inch Nails, HBO, MTV, Oxygen Channel, TBS, ESPN, CBS and Fox Kids, among others. Her film credits include LOST IN SPACE, LOCK STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS, THE END, RAZORBLADE SMILE and HOSTILE WATER. "Julie's addition to Spontaneous as a visual effects designer continues our creative evolution. She brings a London design sensibility to our already strong artistic collective. When screening her reel I was struck by everything I saw. She was painting with technology. Her mastery of light, color and form evoked emotion in such an exciting way. I knew she would be a perfect compliment to our design group and our other visual effects artists in both spirit and mission. She is the consummate professional with experience rich in advertising and broadcast design. She has a strong collaborative relationship with her clients and is committed to finding inventive solutions for their stories. Julie Watkins joining Spontaneous is yet another significant step in our continuing mission to offer our clients the highest level of visual effects design. We are all very excited to welcome her," said managing director Roe Bressan. Watkins added, "I've come to Spontaneous to join an extraordinary talented creative team. Their work is 'right now, of the minute.' I love the energy of both the place and the people, and the ambience and the light of the space."
